Position Description

This position is a key member of ON Semiconductor Sourcing and Procurement Organization
reporting to the APP Director of Sourcing and Procurement. This job position shall
be based at ON Semiconductor Kuala Lumpur Office, located in Bandar Utama, Petaling
Jaya, in Malaysia.

The role of this position for Front and Back-End Equipment sourcing is a leadership
position that is responsible for sourcing and procurement of Front and Back-End
Equipments in support of ON Semiconductor Wafer Fab, Assembly and Test manufacturing
factories. Front-End Operation is defined as Wafer Fab Operation and Back-End
Operation is defined as Assembly, Test and Post Test Operation. The key job
scope are listed below, but not limited to the required tenure of procurement
responsibilities.


1. Work with capacity planning and factory on forward equipment purchase requirements:
source, secure quotations requests, negotiated pre-requisite or upfront terms
and conditions, analyze all quotations requests (include engineering technical
assessment) and then recommend the right equipment supplier for selection and
capital expenditure committee for approval.

2. Review Engineering Equipment Procurement Specifications & Equipment Acceptance
Criteria for each equipment purchase; negotiate final PO price and terms (or
final Volume Purchase Agreement) to ensure a balanced protective terms and conditions
with minimum risks to form the contract for each equipment purchase.

3. Track each newly delivered equipment buy-off and acceptance cycle time and
assist engineering to clear suppliers obstacles that hinders equipment buy-off
and equipment acceptance.

4. Regularly contact used equipment suppliers or any direct party that wished
to part with used equipment and secure quotes, secure used equipment conditions
(including ‘visit to view’) and negotiate best buy for management
to review.

5. Regularly contact OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), existing and new
suppliers, to know their companies strengthens and weaknesses, their latest
equipment models and make ready comparisons reports of same category equipments
for recommendation to management. S/he will be required to attend equipment
exhibitions (such as Inter-Nepcon & Semicon shows), scan Internet and equipment
buyer guides to keep tap on selective equipment market trend, track ON’s
competitors equipment trend, support market intelligence and benchmarking data
so required by the supervisor.

6. Compile and regularly update sites’ equipment inventory: By operation,
by suppliers, by equipment models, by years of service and determine suppliers
support status on spare parts and make recommendations to extent lifespan of
equipment.

7. Negotiate OEM spare purchase agreements. Continuously to recommend to factory
purchasing to local source OEM parts for cost reduction.

8. To work on any equipment disposal with factory as assigned by supervisor.

9. Active participation and help to drive Equipment Supply Base Strategy.

10. Work with factory to know existing equipment supplier performance and support
factory purchasing & operation to improve equipment supplier delivery lead-time
and major equipment corrective actions.


Although this is an individual contributor position, the person may not have
any direct reporting staff but is needed to work cross-functionally with other
functional departments



Position Requirements

1. Successful candidate must have adequate work experience in Semiconductor
Industry preferably in Wafer Fab, Assembly and Test Operation, with knowledge
of Wafer Fab, Assembly and Test processes or equipment.

2. Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbal and in writing).
Multi-lingual ability will be a strong advance.

3. Take leadership in supplier management and able to perform hard negotiation
but be fair and ethical with suppliers.

4. The person must be a self-starter with proactive initiatives, focus and determine,
and a team-player that is able to support business directions. S/he must be
results driven.

5. Strong computer user particularly, in Excel and Power-point.

6. Require to comply with proper business conduct with suppliers at all the
time. Confidential is critical.


His role may have other responsibilities assigned to him/her that is deemed
needed by the supervisor and may be added to the job scope from time to time
for job enhancement and s/he is required to give full support to the added responsibilities.
