1. Position : Lead Piping Engineer

Location: Malaysia

Description

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead role in directing the activities of Detail Design contractors for design
of the HVAC system and equipment, production of specifications and equipment/materials
procurement. Ensure designs meet project technical, safety, environmental and
regulatory requirements, and that the designs meet project objectives of operability,
maintainability, reliability, constructability and life cycle cost. Review and
approval of all HVAC drawings and documents produced by the detail design Contractor
and equipment vendors. Effectively manage and control change and ensure that
Contractor deliverables are produced in a timely fashion to meet the project
schedule requirements. Responsible for piping engineering in the KL and Perth
offices for the Wheatstone platform (WP). Responsibility will include piping
design/materials and layout for the Wheatstone Platform. The position is part
of a multi-functional owner’s team overseeing the design and EPCI contractor.
The role will progress the piping engineering to completion of detailed design,
oversee the procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the pipng
equipment, ensuring an optimum, fit-for-purpose design meeting all functional
requirements for safety, environment, layouts, operability, regulatory / permitting,
etc.. Assist in project execution planning for the piping equipment along with
the piping design and construction group to develop a fit for purpose design
and complimentary installation plans. Maintain positive and effective working
relationship with other upstream coordinators and project work teams, including
Subsea Team, Operations Team, Technical Services Team, Business Services Team
and Downstream Team. Lead role in directing the activities of the Detail Design
contractor. Review design engineering and vendor deliverables ensuring they
are of consistently high quality; recommendations are technically sound and
cost effective. Participate in the piping design assurance for piping equipment
as part of the larger Upstream Project team to ensure successful phase gate
Peer Review outcomes. Ensure the company and external technical specialists
are effectively utilized. Directing the activities of the Detail Design contractor
for piping design and layout. Oversee all aspects of the procurement, installation
and commissioning to ensure successful start-up and handover. Seek out and apply
best practices and lessons learned from other projects. Ensure the delivery
of quality engineering documents and procured materials to meet the project
schedule. Development of fit-for-purpose specifications for piping equipment
not specified during FEED. Ensure designs meet project technical, safety, environmental
and regulatory requirements, and that the designs meet project objectives of
operability, maintainability, reliability, and life cycle cost. Effectively
manage and control change. Maintain effective communications and the free flow
of information between work groups in order to assess and minimize the impact
of proposed design modifications, schedule changes, technical interface issues,
and budget issues. Ensure an effective interface between engineering and procurement
including the technical content of all inquiry packages, bid evaluations, vendor
selection and quality of delivered materials. Interface with the business unit
on developing and deploying supply chain strategies for packaged equipment,
integrated with Wheatstone downstream and other projects within the business
unit. This position provides project engineering oversight of contractors developing
the Wheatstone mechanical and piping designs through CPDEP Phase 4, with technical
support during Phase 4 execution for offshore installation and commissioning.
The Wheatstone Development aims to commercialize the Wheatstone and Iago gas
reserves via subsea completions tied to a processing platform and exported to
a Greenfield LNG site for optimal total long term economic and strategic value
for the company. The fields are located midway between the Gorgon and North
West Shelf gas fields, 150km offshore NW Australia, in blocks WA253P, WA17R,
and WA16R, in 80-200m water depth. The company has 100% equity in the Wheatstone
field and 94% equity in the total reserves. A coordinated standalone development
is anticipated, with interests in both the upstream and downstream projects.
Currently in CPDEP phase 3, the project should complete FEED in early 2011 targeting
a 2015 startup. Total initial Upstream capex will be on the order of USD 8 Billion.
Mobility of candidate essential: Job is located in KL but may require frequent
visits to Perth. The job will be co-located with the engineering contractor.
The role will also require frequent travel to the construction yard and eventually
to the site to support the final hook-up and commissioning.

2. Position : Piping Design Engineer
