About Us

MIA is a statutory body established under the Accountants Act, 1967 to regulate and develop the accountancy profession in Malaysia. To date, MIA has 26740 members.

MIA's responsibilities include education and quality assurance as well as enforcement which are carried out to ensure that the credibility of the profession is maintained and that public interest is continuously upheld.

1. SENIOR MANAGER – FINANCIAL STATEMENTS REVIEW

This position requires a senior level qualified accountant with significant technical experience. The incumbent will undertake reviews of financial statements, directors’ report, auditor’s report and any statement of selected listed and non-listed companies for the purpose of determining compliance with statutory and other requirements, approved accounting standards and approved auditing standards, and generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards and practices.

Requirements:

* Tertiary or professional qualification in Accountancy and a member of MIA
* At least 5 to 8 years of audit practice experience as a Audit Manager and must be in current employment with a large or medium size practice of accountants in Malaysia or overseas
* Extensive practical knowledge of International and local auditing standards and financial reporting standards
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with excellent command in spoken and written English
* Excellent leadership skills and with the ability to inspire, motivate and influence people
* Demonstrate excellent analytical skills
* Strong ability in expressing ideas/thoughts to senior level people in a concise, confident and professional manner
* Highly professional, dependable and committed to meet multiple timelines
* Age above 37 years

2. SENIOR MANAGER – GOVERNANCE & REGULATORY

The successful candidate will assist the Technical Director in managing governance and regulatory related activities, providing technical support to the Institute, its Council and members.

Requirements:

* Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA
* At least 5 - 8 years experience as an Audit Manager from Big Four Firm or Medium size firm
* Experience in handling corporate exercise, risk management and advisory services is an added advantage
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Possesses commendable writing skill
* Dynamic personality, independent, proactive and results-oriented
* Involvement in facilitating training and ability to conduct training is an added advantage

3. MANAGER - ACCOUNTING & FRSIC

The successful candidate will assist the Senior Manager and/or Technical Director in managing Financial Reporting Standards Implementation Committee (FRSIC) activities, providing technical support to the Institute, its Council and members and handling the day-to-day operations of the Professional Standards and Practices Department including the administration of the Department and its personnel in relation to all technical matters affecting the Institute.



Requirements:

* Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy and a member of MIA
* At least 2 years of relevant working experience as an Audit Manager from a Big Four Firm or Medium size firm
* Involvement in facilitating training and ability to conduct training is an added advantage
* Able to conduct research and solving technical issues and is technically sound
* Has passion in learning and sharing knowledge
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* High degree of self-motivation, results oriented and able to work independently
* Able to inspire confidence, influence others and rise up to challenges constructively



4. EXECUTIVE – EDUCATION (STAKEHOLDER LINKAGES)

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Education Department of the Institute to execute and supervise all marketing activities relating to the MIA Qualifying Examination (QE), Bridging Course and any other activities initiated/implemented by Education Department.



Requirements:

* Degree in Business Administration/Marketing/Mass Communication or related field
* At least 2 - 3 years related working experience preferably in marketing & promotions activities
* Proficient in MS-Office software applications
* Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
* Able to work independently with minimum supervision
* Able to plan, attention to details and good organisation skills
* Able to interact with people at all levels professionally
* Good PR & presentation skills

5. EXECUTIVE – ADMINISTRATION & EVENT MANAGEMENT

The successful candidate will assist the Head of Administration & Event Management Department in procurement matters, maintaining the fixed assets register, including assets tagging, bulk mailing activities, office maintenance and all administrative matters of the department.



Requirements:-

* Degree in Business Administration/Management or related discipline

* At least 2 years related working experience

* Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills

* Proactive and resourceful self starter with the ability to work independently

* Prepared to work in a fast paced and challenging environment

* Positive attitude and strives for improvement

* Good in MS Office Applications


6. CLIENT RELATIONS OFFICER (2 vacancies)

The successful candidate will work with the Executives and Managers of MIA Professional Development Centre (MPDC) assisting in the day-to-day administration of training programmes, seminars and conferences which will include, inter alia, customer enquiries, data entry, participant enrolments and confirmation, following up on receivables and onsite duties and generally assisting in all aspects of event administration and customer relations duties.

Requirements:

* Diploma in Business Administration or other related discipline.
* At least 1-2 years related working experience
* Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
* Able to multi-task, pay attention to details and meet deadlines
* Able to interact with people at all levels professionally
* Be proficient in MS-Office software applications
* Able to work independently with minimum supervision


7. HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day administrative duties of the HR Department. He/She will also assist in handling enquiries on related matters affecting the department.



Requirements:

* Diploma/Degree in HR Management / Business Administration / Management (majoring in Human Resource)
* At least 1-2 years related working experience
* A self-starter, responsible with a good attitude and a good team player
* Meticulous and able to organize work well with strong people relationship skills
* Able to work under pressure and independently
* Experience in coordinating training and dealing with PSMB would be an added advantage
